The idea

The chart isn’t its own app bolted onto the platform — it’s a feature reading and writing the same boat-wide data bus as everything else. Your position, your route, your AIS targets: one truth, plotted, that the autopilot, the log book, and passage planning all see too.

Where it is

The chart, tide, AIS, and routing engines already exist in the platform’s core code. Wiring them onto the shared bus as a live chart plotter is next in line, right after the data layer and the security layer it depends on.
